Aiko Neostar Panels

Aiko Neostar is the panel we reach for when a homeowner wants the most electricity possible from a limited amount of roof. Aiko Solar builds these modules around ABC (All Back Contact) cell technology, which moves the electrical contacts to the rear of the cell so the front is a clean, unbroken sheet of silicon. More of the sunlight hitting your roof gets turned into power, and the panel loses the busbar lines you see on ordinary modules — the result is one of the highest-output all-black residential panels on the market and a finish that looks right on a period cottage or a new build alike.

We fit two variants from the Neostar range. The NEOSTAR 3S54 is the mono-glass panel; the NEOSTAR 3S+54 is the dual-glass version for extra durability and a longer working life. Both sit in the 480–490W bracket, so you need fewer panels to reach your target system size — genuinely useful on smaller South Coast roofs, dormers and heritage properties where every rafter counts. Because they are all-black with rear-slope options, they also help keep an installation discreet in a conservation area.

One of the real-world reasons we like Aiko down here is shade tolerance. Chimneys, dormers, neighbouring trees and TV aerials all throw partial shade at some point in the day, and the ABC cell design handles that far better than conventional panels — a shaded corner drags down the output of the whole string much less than it would on older technology. Paired with our high South Coast irradiance (roughly 1,050–1,150 kWh per kWp a year, among the best in the UK), a well-designed Aiko array works hard for its keep.

Every Aiko installation is carried out by our own MCS-certified team, registered for the Smart Export Guarantee, with bird protection mesh fitted as standard.
