South Coast Solar Solutions installs EcoFlow home battery storage as part of our Standard solar-and-battery package across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Dorset, West Sussex, East Sussex and Surrey. It is a hybrid system — one EcoFlow unit converts what your Aiko 475W panels generate and stores the surplus in an EcoFlow battery of 5.1kWh or 10.2kWh — installed by our own MCS-certified, family-run team from Portsmouth. The three EcoFlow configurations start from £8,418 (8 panels, 5.1kWh), £8,800 (10 panels, 5.1kWh) and £10,290 (12 panels, 10.2kWh), all subject to survey and all with bird protection mesh included as standard.
The Standard package sits between our Budget package (Fox ESS with DMEGC panels) and our Premium package (Tesla Powerwall 3). What you are paying for over Budget is the higher-output Aiko 475W panels and the EcoFlow hybrid platform; what you are not paying for is a Powerwall-sized battery you may not need. Because the inverter and the battery are designed to work together as one system, the install is tidier and there is a single point of monitoring and support rather than two makers to deal with if anything ever needs attention.
Battery capacity is the decision that matters most, and it is a straightforward one. A 5.1kWh EcoFlow battery suits a smaller household or a couple who are out during the day and want to run the evening from stored solar. The 10.2kWh option, paired with 12 panels and the 5.0kW hybrid inverter, is for larger families, anyone charging an EV or running a heat pump, or anyone on a cheap-rate overnight import tariff who wants to fill the battery at around 7p and run the house on it through the expensive part of the day. If you need more than 10.2kWh, the same Standard package switches to Sigenergy at 14 panels (9kWh) or 16 panels (18kWh), and we will tell you plainly at survey which of the two makes sense for your usage.
We handle every step. Every EcoFlow battery install needs a G99 grid application to the network operator — SSEN across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Dorset and west Surrey, UK Power Networks across East and West Sussex and most of Surrey — and we file it for you before install. We register the system with MCS so you can sign up for a Smart Export Guarantee tariff, and we are honest about what we do not put on this page: we do not publish EcoFlow warranty terms, cycle life, efficiency figures or app details here, because those change with the current datasheet. We will walk you through the live EcoFlow documentation at your free survey rather than quote a number that may be out of date.

EcoFlow is our Standard package: from £8,418 for 8 Aiko 475W panels with a 3.6kW EcoFlow hybrid inverter and 5.1kWh battery, from £8,800 for 10 panels with the same inverter and battery, and from £10,290 for 12 panels with a 5.0kW hybrid inverter and 10.2kWh battery. All prices are "from", subject to a free survey, and include bird protection mesh as standard. Need more storage? The 14- and 16-panel Standard configurations switch to Sigenergy at from £10,800 (9kWh) and from £13,500 (18kWh).

Homeowners who want a step up from a budget system — premium Aiko panels and a single tidy hybrid unit — without stretching to a Powerwall. The 5.1kWh option suits smaller households running the evening from stored solar; the 10.2kWh option suits larger families, EV drivers, heat pump homes and anyone on a cheap-rate overnight tariff who wants to charge the battery at around 7p and run the house on it through the day. Right across our patch: Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Dorset, both Sussexes and Surrey.
How it compares
Fox ESS (our Budget package): the cheapest route to solar and storage — from £6,995 for 8 DMEGC 450W panels with a Fox hybrid inverter and 5.76kWh EP6 battery, or from £9,250 for 12 panels with the 11.52kWh EP12. Fox is modular and good value; the trade-off is standard DMEGC panels rather than the higher-output Aiko 475W panels EcoFlow ships with. Sigenergy (the larger Standard configurations): the same Aiko panels and the same tier, but at 14 panels (9kWh, from £10,800) and 16 panels (18kWh, from £13,500). Pick Sigenergy if you need beyond 10.2kWh or want a big-roof system; pick EcoFlow for 8–12 panels. Tesla Powerwall 3 (our Premium package): a 13.5kWh all-in-one battery with automatic whole-home backup and the Tesla app, from £12,920 with 12 panels, and a £375 Tesla rebate is currently available. It is the tidiest, best-supported battery we fit and it costs around £2,600 more than the 12-panel EcoFlow system. Plain verdict: if price is the deciding factor, go Fox ESS. If you want premium panels and 5–10kWh of storage at a mid-range price, EcoFlow is the sensible pick. If you need more than 10kWh, go Sigenergy. If you want backup during a power cut and the strongest support ecosystem, and the budget stretches, the Powerwall 3 is worth the difference.

Do you install EcoFlow batteries in my area?+
We install EcoFlow across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Dorset, West Sussex, East Sussex and Surrey — that is our whole service area, from our base in Portsmouth. If you are outside those six counties we cannot take the job on, but EcoFlow's own installer finder will point you to an approved installer nearer to you.
Is the EcoFlow system a hybrid inverter or a separate battery and inverter?+
It is a hybrid system — one EcoFlow unit handles the solar conversion and the battery storage together, so you are not pairing an inverter from one maker with a battery from another. The 8- and 10-panel configurations use the 3.6kW hybrid inverter with a 5.1kWh battery; the 12-panel configuration steps up to the 5.0kW hybrid inverter with a 10.2kWh battery.
Can I get paid for the electricity my EcoFlow system exports?+
Yes — we register the system with MCS so you can sign up for a Smart Export Guarantee tariff. Octopus Outgoing Fixed pays 12p/kWh (it was cut from 15p on 1 March 2026), and flat open-market SEG rates currently sit at roughly 10.5p–16.5p. The higher time-of-use export tariffs you may have read about are closed to new sign-ups. The bigger win with a battery is usually on the import side: on Intelligent Octopus Go you can charge the EcoFlow at around 7p overnight and run the house on it through the day.
Do I need permission from the grid to install an EcoFlow battery?+
Yes — a battery means a G99 application to your network operator, and we file it for you. That is SSEN across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Dorset and west Surrey, and UK Power Networks across East and West Sussex and most of Surrey. We do this before installation so there are no surprises on the day.
What warranty and battery life does EcoFlow give?+
