The MyEnergi Zappi is the smart EV charger we fit most often here on the South Coast, and there's a simple reason: it's built to work hand-in-glove with a home solar system. Its headline trick is solar-priority charging — in Eco and Eco+ modes the Zappi watches the surplus power your panels are sending to the grid and diverts it into your car instead, so on a bright Hampshire or Isle of Wight afternoon you can top up your EV on electricity you generated for free rather than exporting it for a few pence. Switch to Fast mode when you need a full charge quickly and it draws from the grid like any standard charger. It's all managed through the myenergi app, so you set a mode, check your charging and forget about it.

As a family-run, MCS-certified installer we look at the Zappi as one piece of a joined-up home-energy setup, not a bolt-on. Pair it with solar and you charge from your own roof; add a battery and cheap off-peak tariff and the Zappi can pull in low-cost overnight grid energy too, blending the two so your car is always filled from the cheapest source available at the time. Every Zappi we install is fitted by our own team and signed off properly — no subcontracted unknowns turning up at your door. We cover Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Dorset, West and East Sussex and Surrey, and we'll survey your property first to plan the cable route, the mounting position and the electrical connection so the install is tidy and compliant. If you're having the Zappi at the same time as solar or a battery, we coordinate the whole job on one visit where practical, which keeps disruption down and means one team is accountable for the lot.

A standard charger just draws grid power whenever you plug in; the Zappi's whole point is to use your surplus solar first.
