Tesla Powerwall Installers Dorset: Certified Powerwall 3 Installs

Powerwall 3 on its own or with new solar panels, fitted across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and out to Dorchester and Weymouth by a Tesla Certified team based in Portsmouth.

Quick answer

We are Tesla Powerwall installers covering Dorset, and a Tesla Certified Installer you can check on Tesla's own locator. A Powerwall 3 on its own starts from £7,450 (13.5kWh), and with new panels from £12,920. Every Dorset home is on SSEN's network, so a Powerwall needs G99 approval before it is fitted, and we file that application for you.

Most people searching for Tesla Powerwall installers in Dorset want two answers: is this firm really certified, and does it genuinely cover my postcode? The first you can check yourself in a minute on Tesla's installer locator. The second depends on where you live. Our regular Dorset work runs from Christchurch, the closest Dorset town to our Portsmouth base at about 36 miles, through Bournemouth and Poole, and out to Wimborne, Dorchester and Weymouth on planned west-Dorset trips.

We fit the Powerwall 3 two ways. On its own, it is a battery-only upgrade for homes that already have panels or want to run on cheaper overnight electricity. With new panels, it is the centre of our Premium package. Either way the survey comes first, because your consumer unit, where the battery can sit and the SSEN approval all affect the final price.

How a Powerwall earns its keep on a Dorset tariff

A battery makes money by moving electricity from a cheap time to a dear one, so the tariff matters as much as the hardware. Octopus Outgoing Fixed pays 12p for every kWh you export (it was cut from 15p on 1 March 2026), so exporting your midday surplus is worth less than using it yourself in the evening. Flux is the other route. It pays nearly three times the day rate between 4pm and 7pm, so a battery that holds charge for that window earns far more than panels exporting at lunchtime.

Count each kWh of battery capacity once. A 13.5kWh Powerwall can shift about that much energy a day, whether it comes from your panels or from cheap overnight import. It cannot do both jobs with the same capacity, so be wary of a savings quote that adds solar shifting and tariff trading together as if the battery were twice the size. We model your real usage at the survey and show you which approach suits your home.

Where we fit Powerwalls across Dorset

Christchurch and the Bournemouth and Poole conurbation are our regular Dorset route, and most surveys there can be booked within our normal schedule. Wimborne sits just beyond Poole on the same run. Dorchester and Weymouth are the furthest towns we cover, so we plan those visits as dedicated west-Dorset trips. The survey, install and any aftercare visit still come from the same team. Beyond Weymouth, check Tesla's installer locator for a certified installer closer to you.

For solar-only questions in the county, including Solar Together and how its offers compare with a local quote, see our Dorset solar panel installation page.

Coastal and period homes

Many of the homes we survey in Dorset sit close to the sea or in protected streets, and both affect where the kit goes. On salt-exposed seafront properties we specify corrosion-resistant fixings for the panels. In a conservation area or a listed building, we agree the battery and Gateway location with you at the survey. That can mean a garage, an outbuilding or a less visible wall rather than the front of the house. A listed building, such as many in Christchurch's historic core, needs that conversation before any design is drawn.

FAQ

Tesla Powerwall 3 in Dorset: your questions

How do I check a Tesla Powerwall installer in Dorset is genuinely certified?
Search your postcode on Tesla's own certified installer locator rather than trusting a badge on a website. Tesla lists the installers it has certified, so the locator is the only check that counts. South Coast Solar Solutions is a Tesla Certified Installer and covers Dorset from our Portsmouth base.
How much does a Tesla Powerwall 3 cost to install in Dorset?
From £7,450 for a Powerwall 3 on its own (13.5kWh), or £13,950 with the expansion unit (27kWh). With new solar panels, our Premium package runs from £12,920 with 12 panels to £13,560 with 16, and a £375 Tesla rebate is available. These are our advertised "from" prices, subject to survey.
Does a Powerwall in Dorset need approval from SSEN?
Yes. All of Dorset is on SSEN's network, and a Powerwall install goes through G99, which SSEN has to approve before installation. G98 connect-and-notify is for small systems up to 3.68kW per phase. We submit the G99 application and schedule your install once it is approved.
Which parts of Dorset do you cover for Powerwall installs?
Christchurch, Bournemouth, Poole and Wimborne are on our regular Dorset route. We plan Dorchester and Weymouth as dedicated west-Dorset trips. If you live further west than Weymouth, Tesla's installer locator will show you a certified installer closer to home.
Is Octopus Flux worth it with a Powerwall in Dorset?
It can be, if the battery can hold charge for the evening. On 16 September 2026 Flux paid 29.00p per kWh for exports between 4pm and 7pm in the Southern England region, which includes Dorset, but only 10.08p through the day and 4.74p from 2am to 5am. Octopus Outgoing Fixed pays a flat 12p. Which suits you depends on your usage, and we model both at the survey.
